Read Scott's Bio
Scott's golf career has come full circle. Beginning at VGC in 1986, he started his career collecting range balls and working the back shop with former Head Professional, Mike Parker. He was promoted to Assistant Professional in 1992 and, after six years (and having obtained his Associate Professional status), he departed for a new challenge at Gallagher's Canyon Golf & Country Club in the Okanagan.
Scott was the Golf Shop Manager at Gallagher's Canyon for five years and created the Gallagher's Canyon Golf Academy. Advancing up GolfBC's ranks, Scott returned to the island in late 2002 as Manager of Arbutus Ridge Golf Club where he founded the GBC Golf Academy. Then, in early 2006, Scott moved to Ontario to become the first Head Professional at Raven at Lora Bay, where he helped create the Raven Golf Academy. Later that year, Scott was honoured to return home as General Manager of the Victoria Golf Club.
Read Lindsay's Bio
Lindsay Bernakevitch is a PGA of Canada class A professional and has been a golf Professional since 2004. He has a passion for golf; especially at member clubs where he enjoys all aspects of club life. Prior to turning Pro, Lindsay enjoyed an illustrious amateur career, winning four straight Saskatchewan Amateur titles, playing on six Willingdon Cup teams and competing as a member of the Canadian Men's National Golf Team, representing Canada nine times in international competition.
Lindsay has enjoyed a successful playing, teaching and administrative career in the golf industry. Prior to coming to Victoria Golf Club, Lindsay worked at, and was affiliated with, Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club for ten years. He played for four seasons on what is now the PGA Tour of Canada, and continues to be a highly ranked player in the PGA of Canada, reaching as high as 5th in 2013. He enjoys teaching and coaching all levels of golfers and has worked with everyone from tour players to raw beginners. He loves working at the Victoria Golf Club because of its rich history, its active Membership and its industry leading staff.

Read Paul's Bio
Paul Robertson has over 20 years of golf course management experience. He started as a grounds person at the early age of 14, progressing to assistant at his home course and working his way through university, where he majored in Math/Science. In 2000 he came to us from Summerland Golf Club, where he was responsible for resurrecting its reputation for fast greens and immaculate conditioning. Prior to Summerland, Paul was a grow-in Superintendent, bringing several new golf courses from construction to opening.
Paul's extensive education includes:
- Bachelors of Science;
- Diploma in Turfgrass Management (Honors);
- Bachelors of Applied Science in Horticulture/Agronomy (Distinctions);
- MBA in Project Management from Penn State University (Honors).
While pursuing his education, Paul has received over a dozen scholarships, including the only Canadian student to ever receive the prestigious Mendenhall Scholars award.

Read Jason's Bio
Jason grew up in Victoria and has been in the F&B industry for 25 years, joining the VGC team in 2005 as the Bar Manager. He has managed restaurants, nightclubs and lounges in Victoria and Vancouver, and has just received his first ISG Sommelier diploma.
Over the past eleven years with us, Jason has risen through the ranks, and has been the Food & Beverage Manager for 5 years. He has played an intricate role in turning around our F&B program over the years and is responsible for all Front-of-House staff and serving standards. Jason has also been invited for the past four years in a row to supervise one of Augusta National Golf Club's newest restaurants during the Masters Tournament, a testament to his talent and professionalism.

Read Nathan's Bio
Born and raised on Vancouver Island, Nathan previously worked as an Executive Sous Chef at the Union Club and Uplands Golf Club, with stints at high-end resorts like Hotel Grand Pacific, Banff Springs Hotel and English Inn, where he trained under celebrated Victoria chef, Richard Luttman.
Promising from an early age, Nathan found his passion for food while helping his dad cook spaghetti at the age of 7. After training at the Southern Albertan Institute of Technology (SAIT), he won the province's 2003 Apprentice of the Year Award.
Free-spirited in the kitchen and fuelled by rampant curiosity, Nathan has experimented with molecular gastronomy, traditional home cooking and cuisines from around the world. A big believer in supporting small local businesses, Nathan is committed to seasonal menus that feature the best local ingredients that our West Coast has to offer.

Read Winston's Bio
Winston joined VGC in October 2014 after working 16 years in the industry working at Arbutus Ridge, Raven at Lora Bay (Ontario), Georgian Bay (Ontario) and, most recently, Cottonwood. His resume includes roles as Golf & Events Sales Manager, Associate Golf Professional, Golf Shop Manager, Head Professional and, most recently, Assistant General Manager.
Aside from his extensive work background, Winston enjoys spending time with his two young children and wife as they explore the great parks and sites that Vancouver Island has to offer. When not on the golf course, you will find Winston playing another passion of his: ice hockey!

Read Donna's Bio
Donna was born in Victoria, but moved to Vancouver and then back to Oak Bay with her family to attend grade school at Monterey. Donna worked as a server at VGC while going to Oak Bay High School. After college, and a three-year stint with Delta Hotels, she came back to VGC to join the Food and Beverage team. She loved working with Members (as did they with her) and she was quickly promoted to her current role as Membership Administrator.
If you spend any time in Palm Springs, you may catch a glimpse of Donna and her hubby Bob playing their favourite golf courses. When at home, Donna loves to cook, work on her house renovations and loves her daily walks with her two adorable Pugs, Wembley and Chelsea. Stop by the office anytime for a visit - she would love to see you!

Read Lucy's Bio
Lucy moved with her family to Victoria from Northern B.C. During high school, and for many years after, she worked in the restaurant business in Victoria. We were lucky enough to have her join our team in 1986 in the Food and Beverage department. Legend has it she can still make a delicious clubhouse sandwich!
After 8 years of loyal service, she accepted a promotion to our administration office where you will find her smiling face and welcoming presence to this very day. Lucy has worked in all areas of the office and is an essential part of the management team. She is currently the payroll administrator but is still involved in many other areas of the administration and Member services.
On her time off, Lucy enjoys gardening, hiking and camping with her husband and two pups. They also love to vacation somewhere warmer during the winter when possible.

A shining star in the office as our Controller, Susan has been with the Club since 2008. After spending 25 years in a corporate environment, she is very happy to be working in the Oak Bay community where she has lived for 25 years and where she raised her family.
Her quiet manner and quick wit allow her to fit in well with her co-workers. Sue and the girls have enjoyed taking advantage of the staff golf, playing a few holes after their working day when time allows. Susan is a world traveler and loves to scuba dive. Her travels include Egypt, Nepal, Italy & the Mediterranean, and her favourite dive spot so far is Fiji.

Read Marisa's Bio
Marisa has been part of our administration team since February 2014. She spent most of her life growing up in the Cowichan Valley before moving to Victoria in 2008. Marisa recently completed her Bachelor of Business Administration degree, and she plans to continue building her accounting knowledge while working as part of the VGC team.
In her spare time, she enjoys jogging around Victoria with her dog and testing out new vegetarian recipes. She also recently completed her first half-marathon in May 2015, and hopes to beat her time this year!

Tawnya moved to Victoria from Vancouver to attend university and instantly fell in love with the island. An avid website, graphic design and marketing enthusiast, Tawnya was the perfect match to join the Victoria Golf Club in 2013 as our Communications Director. She is in charge of our website, social media outlets and promotional materials, helping all of our departments promote and engage with the Membership and the public.
After graduating from the University of Victoria with a BA in 2014, Tawnya was excited to take a break from academics and settle into the communications role here at the Club. She loves living in the heart of downtown Victoria and enjoys spending her free time exploring the city, escaping to the Gulf Islands and visiting her family in Vancouver.

Read Christina's Bio
Born and raised in Victoria, Christina has been in the hospitality industry for over 15 years. For the last six years she has been at the Victoria Golf Club - serving, bartending, supervising and becoming indispensable to our Food & Beverage department supervising everything from special events, club nights and weddings.
Currently a Business student at Camosun College, Christina is pursuing a Bachelor in Business Administration. In 2011 she was awarded the Val Mason Scholarship from the Canadian Society of Club Managers.

Chelsea started working as a server in the Food & Beverage department for several years and was quickly promoted to Floor Manager. Chelsea then went on maternity leave following the birth of her adorable son, but came back 6 months later to take on the role as Events Manager while Christina is on maternity leave.
Chelsea brings several years of hospitality and administrative experience to her new role, and the team (and Members) are happy to have her. In her free time, she spends it mostly with her fiance and her son. She is also deep in house renovations, so most of her "free time" is spent tackling several house-related projects.
